The ApocalypseA Poem by felionessI dreamt of ruin...
I dreamt wind moved grass
In restless landlocked waves Stretched beneath skies dimming fast Darkening to black from shades of grey I dreamt wind gusted with damnation Desperate to prevail Eagerly pelting salvation Into hell I dreamt clouds gathered in angry mobs Filled with thunder Ripe and ready to burst asunder To rain holocaust upon mother earth I dreamt brother sun gave up the ghost While pale sister moon receded To espouse, at most feminine insights Ebbing with the tide... unheeded And wished like her brother she could hide ...defeated I dreamt in the aftermath All humanity was bereft Condemned to death Without redemption Desolate, unneeded Until the very end This is the tale my dream foretold: ... fury spent Mother Gaia grew distant, cold Humanity languished ... then died Eons passed Stars dangled Devoid of air Eternity hammering to bits The drops of silver that once glittered there … until time had no meaning and no name And all was as before Before mankind was to blame Before space was a place Before light was the reflection Of the almighty's face Once In his eternal grace The creator made us in his image ... light Arrogance led us into temptation Our egos left us in disgrace By dis-respecting mother earth We turned the tide and Created our own genocide © 2012 felionessReviews
