Spring, To Be SprungA Poem by 747The grass is green Yet the fields are white The Sun is shining But the air has bite
Spring still un-sprung Winter dragging on Days persevere in growing; Longer one by one
Flowers alive Kept inside Flowers dead Cover the ground
Hoarfrost glitters In the daylight’s gleam The trees all standing Waiting for a summer dream
Spring waiting to be sprung Winters’ grip, a waning one Daylight hours growing long One small breath of life to come
Bring birds and song to winter’s misery Drips and drops of icicles shrinking Out the window you will see The grassy fields are green again © 2015 747Reviews
