The One to comeA Chapter by His ApostleIn reference to Luke:3:15-20
John the baptist was not afraid to speak the truth. He also did not take the credit of being the Messiah.Over and over again he emphasized that one will come after him.In his humility he lowered himself not to be worthy to untie the shoes of the one to come.He reminded the people including king Herod of their sins and their crimes. It was not so important to him what the consequences were, his interest was to touch people,to help them realize that in order to gain eternal life, they would have to turn away from their evil ways and turn back to God.For his efforts he was put into prison.Even today we tend to lock up people or ignore them if they make us feel uncomfortable about our way of life.We are afraid of those who speak the truth. It seems to me that the world is much more at ease with a lie than the truth. It is so much easier to live in "reality" than to believe the truth which is beyond our understanding. It pays off to listen to our inner voice or the voice of John the baptist. For as harsh as it may come across it will save our souls. The Messiah will not come back to listen to our excuses and our ideas. He will come back to seperate the ones who follow this world or the so called reality and those who realized what is true and followed the path to salvation. The deciding factor is,will we be uncomfortable in this world?Or are we willing to gamble away our salvation and will be seperated eternally from God?Not really a difficult descision to make, but a demanding path to follow.
God Yahweh, let us listen to the words of your prophets.Give us the strength to recognize and follow the truth,so we will not lose our connection to you in this world full of temptation and false teachings. Amen. © 2017 His ApostleAuthor's Note
