A Voice in the WildernessA Chapter by His ApostleIn reference to the Gospel of Luke:3:1-6
John the Baptist received a call from God and certainly followed it.He preached the baptism of repentance and forgiveness. He quoted the prophet Isaiah;in other words he saw himself as the one who was a voice in the wilderness, preparing the path for the Messiah.Even today we can hear John`s voice,to follow his invitation to repent and to turn away from evil and recognizing the true salvation of God.In order to receive the Messiah in our hearts,we have to straighten out our rough roads we travel on everyday and overcome every mountain of temptation. We have to prepare in repentance a path for the salvation of God to reach us.Following our own ideas and the ways of this world leads us further away from the goal which God has in mind for us.I believe that if we do not acknowledge our sins and selfish ideas we have for our own life,we cannot even comprehend what the salvation of God really means for us.We also have to keep in mind, that forgiveness and mercy can only be received if we are absolutey willing to forgive our neighbor, for instance family, friends,co-workers and most important our enemies.Making a straight path God is not an easy task to do and it is certainly not a quick fix to make ourselves rightous. It is a lifetime process and it has to be thought about daily.Let us today listen to the voice in the wilderness and seriously see God's salvation which he made available to each and everyone of us.
God Yahweh, let me hear the voice which calls me to repentance.Forgive me and accept me as I am,let your salvation surround me and take possession of my heart and soul. Amen © 2017 His ApostleAuthor's Note
