Blessed

Blessed

A Poem by Sheila M
"

A pep talk to myself

"

In the distant look

That fills your eyes

I see the pain.

I see the cries.

Your outer self

Wants to be warm,

But your icy heart

Has been too worn.

I know you've felt love,

I know you've felt pain.

Was it too much to handle

To risk it again?

The things in your past

Are part of who you are.

Own it! Embrace it!

It's brought you this far.

You are better than you think.

I love you for being you.

Work on your weaknesses.

You can do it!  You always do!

Let yourself cry-

Release the pain and stress.

Then remember what you have

And how  you are truly blessed.

This is wonderful! This is something that we all need to remind ourselves of when we start feeling down. It's so validating!

amen. So often we are too hard when we speak to ourselves. Pep talks are so much better and this is a beautiful poetic one.
