Thump-Thump-Thump

Thump-Thump-Thump

A Poem by F.B. Lindsey

Thump-thump-thump

A foggy haze. Moving bodies

It feels warm in here. Or is it just me?

Darkness. Then light. Pulsating.

Excuse me. My bad.

Thump-thump-thump

Who is that? Squint.

Lean against the rail. Look cool.

You want another drink? I think I am good.

She moved on. Where’s my friend?

Thump-thump-thump

Smells like smoke. No REAL fire.

Just sparks. Where did she go?

My friend! You want another drink?

Sure- thanks. I have to let her know.

Thump-thump-thump

Excuse me. I think you’re beautiful.

Idiot! Oh- Ok. Thanks!

She moved on. My friend laughs.

I don’t smell smoke. It’s time to go.
