Release

A Poem by Fawn Sinclair
"

"I feel trapped in my own body, I feel uncomfortable in my own skin. Sometimes I want to run away, and see who will miss me" -Unknown

"
Something inside me slams against my chest
Clawing at my rib cage.
This body of flesh and blood entraps me,
entraps whatever lives inside me.

At night I want to rip my skin off,
gnash my teeth
and
scream

It's all to hot
to suffocating.

Even with the windows open
to cool my heated skin.

It never happens all at once,
it always builds to an
excruciating pain.
Till I'm on the floor and
gripping my head.

Screaming and preying to whatever god
suits my taste.

My voice goes horse and I must relay my
prayers through my thoughts.

Begging. Pleading. Crying.
