Message in a bottle

It was delivered unpacked

Upon the sands of that hoity-toity heart

Which had enjoyed always

It's egotistic aloofness,

Lordly and overbearing status

Like a toplofty grandee.

It was that favourite lollipop to a child

Sparkling in every way.

Most desired,

Most craved,

Most wanted.

It came in a brittle package,

Transparent or translucent,

Corked tightly to suppress for a while,

The minute feelings that would overflow

and transcend the present world.

Was it about that plain past

or much awaited future?

Who would even dare to know?

It had a paper inside,

Supposedly,a letter

Written and handled with much care.

Good handwriting is a must

To win and pluck the cherries,

Placed upon the cakes of heart.

Who writes so much?

And with what pains?

A fragile ribbon binding the letter from a stranger land

Now lies barren and unfurled like a sail.

"I love you " scribbled 16 times

On various spots,.

At various places

Hearts ornamenting the disdainful margins

Shining brightly upon coming in contact

With the kittenish rays of the mighty sun.

Yet,there was no glitter anywhere.

It glowed inherently,

and naturally

Vowels and consonants

Poured forth longings and moanings.

Missing the heart

Waiting on the other side..............

Impatiently!

love sent as a message in a bottle...a creative piece, FCB, with stunning imagery, great flow and many wonderful lines...the message we all desire, crave and want...I was instantly brought to The Police song, 'Message in a Bottle"... well-done!
