Stinging

Stinging

A Poem by fattycbreezy52

They say in a simple language-
"Always keep smiling"
But,the heart doesn't speak a language,
As simple as this.
Living life with a deep relief roll-on
Took a toll on me.
I got carried away,
And lost the real polish.
But, a roll-on has to get over, one day.
How I failed to realise such a simple truth!
In spite of being an ordinary woman,
Speaking an equally ordinary language.

Honest and strong words in your poem.
"Living life with a deep relief roll-on
Took a toll on me."
Sometime hard to paint a smile. But we try for the sake of friends and the family. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome.
I got a sense of the narrator being hoodwinked and raging at themselves for not seeing the scammers tricks - or for seeing the con as it unfolded and not doing anything to prevent it - maybe from disbelief or sheer exhaustion of battling. It would certainly sting - the confidence and the eyes too from tears.
Your less is more approach pays off FcB.
Well penned piece my friend.

"They" are often wrong in what "they" say... the heart only understands emotions and certainly does have a language all to itself... the idea of a roll-on to cover scars becoming lack-lustre means the scars have finally become too prominent to cover... and, while others around us see the change, it takes us a lot longer to realize this truth, that we can't cover any longer...sometimes the heart makes us stay in some pretty bad places, no matter how ordinary and simple the writing is on the wall... sad but well-written, FCB. Hope you feel better...sending a hug your way!

I hope it is becoming better FCB. You do convey such a feeling of sadness, unfairness and being weary of such a burden as life is often unfair and sometimes difficult to comprehend and accept.
