A portrait in progressA Poem by fattycbreezy52Just be alive for once, And see what have I done. To deserve this profession of painting! You have been my muse, Everytime I would try applying the customary paint In careful, regular strokes. For a masterpiece like you. I didn't have to think that much. Your features made their own way, Or perhaps conspired with my naive hands. I am not a good player, after all. If I could just give you some life Every notion of art would breathe in an air of satisfaction, If I could just kiss you once, Keeping aside that elaborate hero-worship And neglecting the standards of a Byronic hero, I would do that, gladly. As your true fan. For me,only this empirical love would satiate the inexplicable thirst, And I am so very absorbed That the portrait in progress Seems to be existent and real
