Oh Great Nation Nigeria, Happy Independence

I wrote this poet in dedication to my country's independence.

oh great nation Nigeria,

oh great country,

today, the heaven and earth rejoice,

to celebrate the remembrance of your freedom

 

big kudos to them all,

who lay thier life that you may live,

and also to them I commend,

who sacrifice all they've got

including thier fears and confidence

to the birth of your freedom

oh great nation nigeria.

 

in you lies great tresure

hidden beneath your earth,

waiting to be discovered by you,

now you're free the discovery starts.

it is only a way of nature

to say congratulation.

 

Indeed you're trully free,

free to do what you want,

free to choose what you desire.

This goes to you and I,

we all are the nation,

a tree cannot make a forest,

What have you choosen?

 

then came back the forgotten issue,

the hidden treasure,

discorvered after freedom

what have we do to it?

how have we used it?

 

it isn't too late

to change the choice of our course,

if what we've choosen is not beneficiary,

after all we are free.

 

it begin with you and me,

to make a right chioce of course,

beneficiary to our development.

 

if i keep writing,

as thought reflect on my mind,

there will be no time to say,

this simple word of celebration,

from my humble heart,

to you oh great nation Nigeria
