From A Late December Afternoon

From A Late December Afternoon

A Poem by fatgreycat
"

Lyrics to an old song

"
Did you lose all your feeling?
When this early
January air
Made your face so gently swollen
And your smile
Seems delicately bare
Oh these fragile snowflakes fall on you
And your longing gaze comes into view
So I'm looking to my heart
To show me what it knows

In October I see
The colors change
And November is where
No leaves remain
Now Christmas is near
Sparkling colored streets
Oh here with you is where I longed to be

On this empty rooftop parking
Oh how peaceful
Can this moment go
As we waste the hours talking
As we're watching
All the crowded streets below

Can you buy such precious solitude?
With this atmosphere I breathe with you?
No my thoughts cannot perceive
What my heart can only feel

Oh heaven I know that this dying day
With its shades inbetween
Just makes you more lovely
And god only knows
How I found your way
But I'm glad that you're here
No, I can't ever be lonely now

Damn. I loved the feeling of two people being very much alone together from the "crowded streets below", very nice. Great imagery with "your smile Seems delicately bare".
