hold your poetry
high above 
your head
so that they may see.
do not be afraid
of your art
even the one
in which you 
wanted to tear
every last word
to pieces and throw
them in the bin.
for it might be 
the one
that someone
needed to see
in order to
feel again.

Ah, very true. Sometimes we underestimate how our work will affect others. I've deleted many poems in the past. I sometimes wonder if I could have just revised them.
