Za'feraan

Za'feraan

A Poem by Faati Jaan

I dreamt of
sleeping in the midst
of saffron flowers,
awoke and plucked one from its bed,
pulled a deep red thread
from the purple haven,
the fragrance conjuring
a nostalgic reminiscence,
and a strong familiarity
of my and my ancestors’ souls.

You've chosen a dazzling metaphor to recognize your heritage. I can see your sense of pride and happiness in the poems conclusion too. Your Hybrid lioness is in full bloom on this one. The image is creative and artful at the same time.
