intimate strangers

intimate strangers

A Poem by Faati Jaan

surely,
we are strangers.
our minds and souls
feel intimate..
but our other senses
are unacquainted.
in the end,
we don’t know each other at all.

I have to agree with this. Our mind is our own and is not dependent on someone else's spirit. Maybe we're supposed to be that way for specific reasons.

It may be why so many couples break up. The familiarity of a partner may create an ingenuous idea of what love is. As though no private boundaries exist between each other.
