Another DayA Poem by Ishmael Free
A vague spectacle of hope
A weak twinkle of a brighter star Merrier days when I can cope All fading like a red dusk Can I imagine a happier place? A freer land? Leaving without a trace This world of mere waiting to die Where every space, every atom Bears nothing but death so nigh Each minute. Each second Each measure of time so miniscule Each thought reckoned In the wake of our ultimate fate All so very redundant As mind and body deflate All too much to comprehend This plaguing series of events This a day I shall no longer attend This day of failed dreams and dying intents. © 2012 Ishmael Free |
