as I lie awake

as I lie awake

A Poem by fatalsymphonies

as I awaken, it's just another day,
insignificant, and there couldn't be a lonelier way;

every step that i take feels like fire to the toes,
and every breath that i take feel likes thorns upon a rose;

I'm just looking for an easier way
as I lie awake.

as i awaken, i choose to close back my eyes,
forever broken, feeling stronger toward endless goodbyes;

and what's the point of begging when I see your pain,
and where's the point in pleading when only I am to blame?

I'm just looking for an easier way
as I lie awake.

I don't think this is insignificant at all.. it is a powerful write, almost lyrical with the repetition of "I'm just looking for an easier way/as I lie awake" Excellent write!

It is significant. Some things we do are hard to forget. They lay heavy on our minds and thoughts. All of us wish we could allow the mistakes and errors of life to dispersed into the wind and be forgotten. A excellent poem.
