RetracingA Poem by fatalsymphonies
Fairy sweets and key lime scents,
oh the luring of this just never relents. I couldn't fathom your harbored ambrosial taste from behind your lips, like strips of candied flavour that I mustn't taste~ How do you close your eyes and breathe when you exist this way, with an exhaling swirl that swallows the rest of the world whole? I pretend I don't dream of your touch, the edge that prevents, I pretend, oh I believe, you don't pretend, I pretend you don't remember those nights with me. You do as you did, you do as you will, but your fluttering lashes pulled you into sleep, my name the last to caress the surface of your thoughts every night~ Sparkling candid paths your toes must trace, aching the words you'll never fail to throw like needles toward a face, savoring the foamy indifference that rests on your tongue, like sugar cubes dissipating in the melting precious words you'll never speak. As you face the collisions of our worlds, begging for a reprieve, I caress your hands in a fathomable dream of yours, and you surrender, just for a moment I'll beg you, of your name and your soul's past melodies, memories, to retrace, just once the strips of sugared bitter fruity candies you promised never to return to... but as I touch your fingers, I feel the tiny cubes of grained sugar licking the smooth edges of your skin.
