A DREAM TO SEE ME THROUGH
By Phil Roberts

When the lonely ogre of night
Has me twitchy restless
All hot and homeless limbs
Mattress of cobbles and pillows
Like damp sandbags for my head of bones
When the darkness seems endless and hopeless
I have a dream of you and me

I wrap it around me
Pull it over my head to hide
Protected by a memory and a hope
A vision of possibilities
And although sleep has absconded
Leaving no forwarding address
A dream will see me through this night
