Destiny deceives Us

Destiny deceives Us

A Poem by Yanghwa Hong
"

sonnet

"

Do grasp my hands as we kindle a spark.

When Future cloaks our Road to tomorrow,

Forget your preconceptions and follow

Our Path through caves and forests stiff and stark.

If Fate brings us to Rivers in the dark,

Forget our sins for the sake of our Love:

We are faultless if we find all the fluff

Laced with silver but we must disembark.

Surely there is a World beyond our days

Our kisses glaze over in wintry lies,

As oaths by Styx release our tight embrace

And form two Roads raging in fiery ice.

Circumstance has caught me in a set daze:

Destiny deceives us in Paradise.

i do understand how destiny could be a major driving force, however it can only be deceptive if it is poorly construed
