Steve's DisneyeaseA Poem by Yanghwa Hongon the plastic nature of today's world-a disneyland that replaced the real. a juxtaposition of a child's world and an adult's world. -inspired by baudrillard's writingsTrekking through the grey, Prancing in the murky dimday, A little Londoner Steve did spy, Entranced in her magical symbols and lies. Queen of her Disney wonderland, A postmodern sphinx in British sand, A ruler over a kingdom make-believe Almost left Steve’s state misperceived. In the shadow of her cardboard Big Ben, Almost as plastic as his Mercedes Benz, Young Elise in her bubble of naive, Cast uncertainty upon his ease. Marching through the scrapers dingy, Strolling towards the ashen city, A Londoner did stare and stand, Still king of his grown-up Disneyland. © 2015 Yanghwa HongAuthor's Note
