Ode to Seasons

Ode to Seasons

A Poem by Natasha Leanne

Autumns leaves falling slowly from the trees,

as winter comes and colours are but memories.

Orange, red and pink, now just shades of grey,

and all the rain and snow has washed the fall away.

Such fascination of these seasons bring,

a want of warm sun, of Summer and Spring.

For now the world becomes a frozen compass,

But all this cold is not without its purpose.

Yet through this time I'm locked away inside,

til Winter passes, and the cold subsides.

But do not worry friends, for what is coming,

the Earth's renewal and chilled seasons summing.

The brighest greens and golds, the flowers blooming,

a painted sky and Spring's sunrise looming.

And as the glowing heat rises with haste,

Our skin bares witness to Summer's embrace.

The bluest skies and endless cloudless days,

But all this warmth and beauty, just a phase.

The days grow shorter and the nights cold,

for seasons change, or so it is fortold.

I really like how when you mention winter your writing is more melancholic and once summer is mentioned it lifts again...it kind of reminds of someone with winter blues. The poem has a good flow to it and the imgary is good. Keep writing :)
