Until Then

Until Then

A Poem by Natasha Leanne

We met.

Cautions thrown to the wind,

and a distant love affair that to me,

ended too soon.

I remember him,

as if yesterday our lips had first met.

He stared into me,

I felt loved, cared for, missed even.

Even when I forget him,

one image brings me back.

His arms holding me so tight,

and life was sublime,

if only for a moment.

I still wonder if it was love?

Or just something like it.

Either way he lingers on my mind.

He remains now, as a part of a memory,

the best one I have.

It plays over and over in my mind.

I can't help but think,

we owe it to ourselves,

as a goodbye,

to recite those moments,

one last time.

Until then, and if then does exist,

I hold this memory,

close my eyes and reminisce,

his touch, taste, smell,

if I dream hard enough,

I can feel it.

One can only hope,

We meet again.

I can really feel the desire and longing you have, not only for the this person but for what you shared together to be real. I think that is something everyone fears; one day you will realise that what meant so much to you wasn't even real. Great job!

Definitely deep. You know, it kinda reminds me about all the girls I've been with. They're all still swimming inside of me somewhere, and I think about them even though I'm with someone and happy with the person I'm currently with.
