I'm Sitting Here

I'm Sitting Here

A Poem by Natasha Leanne

I'm sitting here,

Watching the world go by,

It drifts past me with weary eyes,

I stare and watch as I stand still,

For I am a part of the human will.

The seconds and minutes, and hours pass by,

As doing, a tear sheds from my eye.

Poverty, war, hate and pain,

The sun, the clouds, the wind and rain,

Birth, death and sickness occur,

But no one even seems to care,

No one seems to stop and see,

The world pass by in front of me,

And I can't stop it, I'm a single soul,

Lost myself, out of control,

But if we all stood here, perfectly still,

And viewed the war, the hate, the ill,

We'd try to stop the world pass by,

And shed a tear with watchful eyes,

To flood the world of hate and pain,

Until our world again regains,

The peace and beauty that there once was,

The reasons for doing; just for the cause,

The world would be a better place,

For the entire human race,

Think of that, watch and cry,

As our sinking world, passes us by,

I still think, and wonder.... why?

Good poem. I like that "care" sticks out in the middle of the poem with nothing rhyming with it. That gives the "care" idea strength and carries it well through the rest of the piece.
However, capitalizing the first letter of every line adds awkward emphasis in areas that shouldn't have any and I feel that disrupts the flow of the poem. Overall: very insightful. Good Work
