Do they even care?

Do they even care?

A Poem by Beautiful Strange

A little girl curls up in a corner

She closes her ears

trying to block out her parent's screaming

Don't they know those are bad words?

"Fine then, I'm leaving!"

A door slams

finally there is silence

Do they ever stop to think about her?

Daddy needs to blow off some steam

He yells for her to come

Daddy yells and punches

Will he ever know how much she hurts?

Daddy stops punching and yelling

Returning from the kitchen

with a bottle full of amber liquid

Will he ever notice the little girl on the floor?

Mommy comes home and sees her

the still little girl on the floor

and walks on by to her bed

Do they even care?

wow. a very well penned piece with an absolutely serious and rather powerful message. presented with tact and talent by the author, this piece - while sad in context - had amazing imagry and forces one to stop and think.

well done indeed :)

Wow! That was... to put it rather bluntly, Intense.
The imagery and the story-telling, it was fantastic.
Although the content was less than happy, you did a fantastic job of making it appealing to read.

Great job. :D
