A Weather of Sadness

A Weather of Sadness

A Poem by Cerise

I sit on a stool, Middle of nowhere

Surrounded by a view beguiling to me

Wind blows lightly giving me a chill

Welcoming the feel of winter again

The clouds likely to cry out soon

The jittery feeling settling within

The happiness is floating everywhere

Its time for freedom to reign again

Once I had been the one living outdoor

Today I am stuck in a place without air

The need to live and enjoy is engraved deep

All to soon reality comes crashing down ......

I agree with Jennie in that the creativity of this poem and its brilliant metaphors, you can take this poem many ways, interpretation is in the mind of the beholder.

The pleasure was mine.
The style of this poem and the vocabulary choices are beautiful, and those words clearly bring your images to mind. The subject matter is food for thought and open to many different interpretations. Lovely writing; thanks for sharing!

Thank you - I will read again. In the last stanza (deep) is kind of out there; maybe reverse it? You know I believe you are a very good writer. (without air). Thank you again. I enjoyed it.

I am drawn to all these lines, but I will at this very hour highlight "the jittery feeling settling within/the happiness is floating everywhere/It's time for freedom to reign again..." then "All to soon reality comes crashing down..." is funny, the sense in which what could this mean in reality but also that we associate 'reality' with the less dramatic or less heightened feeling, or feelings of elation, no. even though it is part of reality, there is a use of 'reality' which means things are not as good on an everyday basis as we imagine? I put the question to any here for I am not absolutely certain

That first line just pulled me into the poem:
I sit on a stool, Middle of nowhere
That is one of those lines that I think...I wish I wrote that.
Reality can be one tight corset. You've done a great job creating a melancholy mood.
