To Dance

To Dance

A Poem by Tallulah
"

She danced in hope of flying.....

"

She danced

With bold leaps across the floor

Quick turns

And graceful movements

Of piourettes and grande jetes

Her pain escaped in this way

She wished to fly

To be free

This was as close as she could

With all her passion

She reached towards the stars

And tried to blend

With the fluid night

She sought an escape

From this world

Where nothing was really as it seemed

And everything was made up of

Illusions and lies

She danced

disappearing with all that was real

All that was solid

All that was written in stone

And all she needed to escape

was to dance...

I tried dancing once in a china shop, but you can imagine what happened.

Seriously, this is a pretty good 'Dancer' poem. You captured the fluid movements of the dancer and the reason why she had to dance. I enjoy a poem hat can be read over and over again and this is certainly one of them.
