To Be Beautiful

All she wanted was to shine.

She looked around the crowds.

She saw beautiful girls at every turn.

Catching a glance in the glass

Of her own reflection,

She wondered what it would be like

To be Beautiful.

 

To be someone that

People stared at in awe.

That a glance was all it took 

To make people love her.

She wished people didn't have to get to know her

To see that she was beautiful on the inside.

 

She wanted to the light

That shone so  brightly in the darkness.

She wanted to be all that could be seen

In the distance.

 

She wanted to be the star

That was most sought after

By all people,

As they stared into the night sky.

 

 

Most of all

She wanted to be what he wanted her to be,

Because if that's what it took to have him

She was willing to do it.

She was willing to  change everything about her,

If it would make him look at her

To take a second glance.

 

Catching a glimspe at her own reflection,

She looked down

Wishing she was invisible

Because she knew

She would never know what it would be like

To be beautiful.

I thought that this was really good. I like the idea a lot. However, I do feel like there's a lot more telling than showing, and the first line of the third stanza is missing an essential verb. Other than that I do like it. Good job!!

yeah the end is a lot better. and i liked the main idea

This reminds me of fall, a lot. I love the end, the beginning middle is a little wordy i think...
