The KissA Poem by Falling AngelAn interesting poem I wrote last school year. I like how it turned out.She walks onto the floor, empty and without a sound, Not one soul around. Slowly she begins to twirl, so free and without care. The wind blows her curls, her bright blonde hair. As she descends across the floor, She feels as if she is flying, nothing less and nothing more. As her dance slows, one last time around, Her eyes meet another’s; a new soul is found.
A secret is hidden in his eyes, But tonight he will tell no lies. Slowly, with grace, he moves across the floor. He reaches the girl, and thinks of her, And nothing more. Warm breath on his skin Makes him feel something from within. The look in her eyes reflects his own, And now is his chance to show The souls he has broke That he does not have a heart of stone.
As she looks into his eyes, She knows Tonight is the night she will tell no lies. His warm breath bearing down apon her face Makes her heart sing “Amazing Grace.” Into his eyes she sees That familiar look, The one of glee. Tentatively, but none the less there, She reaches her hand up into the air.
A trigger is pulled, And before a sound is sought, He takes another step and Pulls her close; now she is caught.
A hand on her back makes her tingle, A feeling of misplaced comfort. Forward she goes, and none the less Is she on her toes.
He looks down into her clear blues eyes And for the first time in his life He wishes he could not cry.
A smile is placed, as a gaze is set, She is ready for something That will not happen yet.
A gaze and a stare, A smile he could not miss. As his breath quickens with nerves, He leans down into a kiss.
No doubt his next act surprised, And she thought to herself “I will tell no lies.” She leans up into him And closes her eyes. © 2008 Falling AngelAuthor's Note
