Lost Words

Lost Words

A Poem by Charisma Moonfairy
"

Something I wrote when I found all my works gone

"

I close my eyes

Fight back the tears

of works gone

Works unsaved

Works I slaved over

To combine the right words.

Finding them gone

put wounds in my heart

That never can heal

because they are forever gone

never to be replaced

for my bipolar ridden mind

can never conjure those words again

and the house has eaten

the only printed versions

of the words that are now lost.

Even the meadows of Heaven

cannot bring me peace

the last of the wilds of my mind

gone forevermore

because I was not smart enough

To save them to disk

and was too drig-ridden by psychiatrists

that never give a damn about you

to remember that they were there until they were gone.

Lost words

the wolves howl for them

the dream cries for them

the poet dies for them

but they can not return

in my lithium induced coma

and are forever gone to the world.

Lost words never to be repeated or recreated

forever lost in a sea of memories

that don't even seem to be my own

and I cannot remember anymore if they are or not.

Forevermore

gone

never to be seen

never to be read

Lost words.

Please forgive the despair and honesty but I was very upset as many of my lost works were not saved to my computer.

I have tasted the bitterness in losing works. Upon reading your poem it nearly brought me to tears. For me, my writing is my life, it has been the only thing that has saved me sometimes. I bleed for you, but can offer this..."Once lost, reapeted not, never to be duplicated, only born again with new words that have changed direction, still healing you. " Much love, Good luck. P.S. thank you for my review of "A BOY I DON'T KNOW" xo all the best - D.Elizabeth

Bringing back that dreadful feeling of losing all ones words and works. I do enjoy reading those who can capture a moment or a feeling and bring it vividly to others. this is the first one of yours that I have read and I have enjoyed your talents already. It reminds me of the first time I lost all my works 300 peoms poof gone. I didn't want to write anymore, I thought I would never create anything like them again, but life is about over coming thank God :) Great write and wonderful how you made me remember what that felt like.

Ugh...I think every one knows exactly how you're feeling! I know not all of my stuff wasn't saved yet. Guess we've all learned something about saving our work...

It's very straightforward and emotionally charged piece. Good work!

Now save it ;p
