WaitingA Poem by fallen_angelSometimes people wait too long to get out, sometimes they are just lucky.
Yelling,
Screaming,
Coming from the other room,
Waiting.
Sitting in the dark once more,
Rocking slowly back and forth,
Hands clamped over my ears,
Blocking everything out,
Waiting.
Eyes squeezed tightly shut,
Stomach twisting,
Hot tears rolling down my cheeks,
Waiting.
A different day,
The same reason,
Another fight,
Waiting.
I have been waiting my whole life,
For the fight to end,
For it all to stop,
Just waiting.
No more tears to be shed,
No longer weak, but strong,
Ready to leave once and for all,
But for now;
I wait.
