Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by fallen_angel
"

Sometimes people wait too long to get out, sometimes they are just lucky.

"

Yelling,
Screaming,
Coming from the other room,
Waiting.

Sitting in the dark once more,
Rocking slowly back and forth,
Hands clamped over my ears,
Blocking everything out,
Waiting.

Eyes squeezed tightly shut,
Stomach twisting,
Hot tears rolling down my cheeks,
Waiting.

A different day,
The same reason,
Another fight,
Waiting.

I have been waiting my whole life,
For the fight to end,
For it all to stop,
Just waiting.

No more tears to be shed,
No longer weak, but strong,
Ready to leave once and for all,
But for now;
I wait.

very nice i gleaned the essance of waiting and being utterly helpless
in this situation....the last three lines got me:

Ready to leave once and for all,
But for now;
I wait.

It makes perfect sense, but then again it's confusing. There are times in our lives
when we are so confident and ready to leave our past behind and grasp for bigger
things, but we steady wait for it to change by itself....knowing that if we ourselves
turn it around we'll get hurt. So we wait even though we have every tool in the world
to make our living hell....less hellish. Very nice poem great emotion! Keep going.

Really there's not much to tell. I'm just a girl trying to get my writing out there now because I know that later in life I won't be able to write as much as I'd like to. Ofcourse that's only if I act.. more..
