A Poem by fallen.angel.

It's that time again,
And again, I wait alone,
In the dark cave,
Waiting for the first cry.

The water shall be different today,
It shall turn ever so red.
It shall be stained with blood,
The blood of my family.

Mother used to say,
Don't go out there, don't
They'll hurt you as well,
Then I'll have no one left.

I didn't understand,
Not until that faithful day.
The day where I saw them,
Take my mother away.

They dug their iron claws into her,
Slashed at her with sharp blades.
I could hear her cry,
But it was too late.

Tears left my eyes,
As I watched her bleed.
Her eyes slowly closing,
Her life drifting away.

Left and right I see,
The massacre of my friends, my family.
They all cry out in pain,
They thrash about, the pain too much.

Those things that walk on two poles,
With little stubby things they use to grab objects with.
Those things that dig iron claws into my kind,
To drag and to kill what is mine.

They are the ones that should die,
They have no right to keep living.
My kind are becoming less every year,
Yet, they still want to take us.

Why do they do this?
That I don't know.
Do they have a right to do this?
No, they don't.

But, we will stay strong,
We won't give in to them.
We'll let them wait for us,
Year by year, they won't ever see us.

We will one day have our revenge,
We will give back to them what they gave us: Pain.
We, the Calderon dolphins will fight back,
We won't let them get away with this.

Author's Note

fallen.angel.
Every year, in Denmark, specifically the Faroe Islands, innocent and helpless Calderon Dolphins are slaughtered brutally. This is all to show that the teen boys have moved into adulthood and are finally men.
This is act is atrocious and should be banned !

I was wondering the entire time what the heck you were writing about! LoL At first it just seemed really dark and metaphorical, then the ending hits you... The characters in this poem aren't people at all!! This is a great way to show people perspective, and I applaud you!

Thank you for this poem and the information. In most places in the world. The dolphins are protected by law. The poem told a sad story. Man madness to destroy all that is beautiful is very scary. A excellent poem. Than you.
