Thirst

Thirst

A Poem by Cain Phantasm

With lips ablush
and splitting
She caresses a mug
of tepid water
stained a rich mahogany
and tastes of earth and sweat and lust

Memento kisses stain the glass
crescent moons in pearly peach
and each light brush
leaves fingerprints
all girl and flesh and candy

Like a lover in the dark
she kisses blindly
but with the ardor of a prodigy
and longs for palpable encounters
instead of frigid glass
with whisty lips
that carry liquid warmth
turned cold and
static

and cannot quench her thirst
