Veridian Lace

Veridian Lace

A Poem by Faith S.

Gnarled knots and burls

of heavy amber and ash

are imbedded heavily into the tree

he reaches into the atmosphere

old and ominous

as slender green fingers

endlessly interweave

sprawling down the massive trunk

like veridian lace wrapped around

a worn, leather-bound book
