Pomum Ruber

Pomum Ruber

A Poem by Faith S.

Escaped my lips, was the breath the wind stole

a fast steady drum, pulsing and crashing down

upon charcoal asphalt

I squeeze my eyes tightly shut

With each hit, red flows

like struck lightning

filling the cracks of the ground

crimson webs, branching with each collapse

a sudden leap over the blood red apple

missing a step, and falling to my knees

spilling from my body is the benign

and the malignant

replacing parasitic illusions

with hallucinations of reality
