Terra Firma

Terra Firma

A Poem by Faith S.

Soft, wrinkled envelopes
lie limp in the damp dirt
dissolving, one particle at a time
sinking quietly, unassumingly
into the terra firma
words, once scrawled so desperately
only known by the enveloping mire
never to be seen by the eyes
to which the prose
was originally addressed
