Jimmy Lee

Jimmy Lee

A Poem by Faith Kinnison

Jimmy Lee

At first, he was an honorable man

and I loved him with all of my heart

But now, he is a cruel man

and his anger is tearing me apart

Back then, he was all I dreamed about

and all I wanted out of life

But now, the man I once knew is gone

like he's been killed with a knife

I used to wonder, what the one thing was

     that could make him happy

But now, I know it is not me

and I can get kind of sappy

November meant him and I

     together forever

But December meant an end to all that

and I shut out the light

This year I fell hard

for the wrong kind of man

But next year, I will find someone knew

     I know I can
