The Other Woman

The Other Woman

A Poem by Faith Kinnison

The Other Woman

I saw her today, on the street

She was dressed up, nice and neat

In her high heels, and black skirt

With her red purse, and even redder shirt

She didn’t see me, she just walked on by

I was so shocked, I couldn’t even say, "hi."

I turned and watched her go

I tried not to let my sorrow show

I wish I had gone by two minutes later

So I wouldn’t even have seen her

I feel I may lose my lunch

I’m not sure, it’s just a hunch

I feel like calling you

But your love was not true

You can’t be here for me now

Maybe I should move to a new town

Tears are falling from my eyes

I can’t forget all your lies

I need to move on with my life

I can’t believe I am no longer your wife

What do I do, where do I go from here

How can I live without you near?
