Bold Innocence

Bold Innocence

A Poem by Lacinius

He ripped her wings away.

The feathers flew.

Blood danced down her back.

Tears streaked her face.

Screams filled the air.

Laughter brought the darkness.

Innocence brought the light.

Those cruel eyes glistened.

Those helpless hands shook.

Whispers surrounded her.

Promising escape.

One cry to God and an opened gate.
