to you, finally.

to you, finally.

A Poem by Fading-to-Gray

Like the sun outlining the frame of the trees on the mountain top, your hands draw patterns on the skin of my back, With your face pressed up against mine and your breath in my ear, I've never felt more lost in you, as your hands dip and swirl up and down my stomach I find i'm afraid of the quiet hopeful promises that you whisper, because I can smell the alcohol on your breath but you're talking sober.
And your body pulling me closer reassures me but I find in the morning light you start to shy away.
I can't help but wonder if your still healing heart can find a way to love me, if you can find enough fight in you too make this work.
And all this doubt is racing through my mind as you kiss my face and ask if i'm okay, and honestly here in your arms is the best place I'll ever be. I don't know what the future holds for us, but as you drift to sleep I find i'm awake trying to memorize every detail of the moment, and praying that it won't have to end.
