Without You

Without You

A Poem by Fading-to-Gray

You demanded to be let in
You would never settle for less
Than everything

You dug through
My tattered heart
To find the only piece
Without marks

You whispered quietly
You calmed my soul
Held me together
Through the cold

Then without a thought
Not a single care
You destroyed everything
That you once held dear

You shattered everything
Broke me apart
Left me to lie there
In the dark
Coming around only to seize
The strength I'd had
To start crawling away on my knees

Not this time.
I have risen
Blood stained and broken
I stand
My scars turn to steel
And I find out what i'm made of

You stare in shock
At my strong steady steps
Well it turns out i'm just fine
Without you.

Hahaha thanks, you're the best.
Wow just wow... very nice imagery and created emotional piece. I think you nailed this perfectly and so many can relate. Sometimes feelings can't be expressed but you won in creating the words here. Great job.

Thanks for sharing this piece.
