mediocre

mediocre

A Poem by sky

Hushed lips against quivering words
closed eyes avoiding shaking hands
I wish I could reach out and say something
I wish I could grab you somehow
Your heart is closed like doors I've never been able to unlock,
No opportunity here.
Kicked up feet on your dashboard, you don't mind my company
I'm not a burden,
nor am I a blessing.
Bland coffee, mediocre breakfast,
You don't complain but your eyes don't shine, either
I wonder if I'll ever quell your hunger
