I Had Lost Me

I Had Lost Me

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

Something that happened years ago, but I still wonder

"
When my life,
(MY LIFE!)
became so
unraveled
and like Humpty Dumpty,
I couldn't be put back
together, again
and
I was in so much pain,
physically, mentally and emotionally
and so afraid,
because I had lost ME
and
I would show frustration,
get angry, not talk "pretty",
Why, would you get mad at me??

A very emotionally charged poem. How frustrating it must've felt.

How I hate when I rehash moments like this...pretty talk is hardly real life, not under the circumstances of a fall as such. This is raw and gritty, like real life.

i dont know what really happen but in this poem it makes so much hurt that you broke like humpty dumpty like tiny pieces in the ground. I think now you must have forgot how the hurt feels but the memories of wondering why is still there. i really like how you express this. very nice.

Heart tugging, well written and expressed, it defines an emotional turmoil
that plays on the mind, experience becomes knowledge. artistically written

The question of life will always haunt us. Thing said and bad actions leave us wishing to been wiser and kinder. I like the thoughts in the poem and the question at the end. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
