I Needed (regarding 1996-1998)

You closed your ears

and closed your mind,

seemingly,

wanting to believe

the worst about me,

when I desperately needed you

to be kind.

 

I needed compassion, understanding,

empathy and time,

so, naturally, I went

to my loved, trusted sister's place

and she slammed the door,

hard,

right in my face.
