Surprise

Surprise

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

the reactions when a loved one does something hurtful over and over

"

Surprise walks by,

then, disbelief sets in,

loss of respect jogs through,

then, contempt comes racing in,

sits down

and never leaves.

The poem told the truth. Hard to forgive the repetition of the same hurt. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Holy, you packed it all into those 7 lines...way to go, this one is really an eye opener. Much enjoyed!

Thank you!
It makes sense in context with the explanation at the beginning. Perfect sense.

Thank you!
Short, sharp, effective. Concise is almost always good.
