Innertide

Innertide

A Poem by Barbara Walker

I have an affinity for the sea,

there is a parallelism

between the tides and me.

High tide-

an active force,

fun and crazy,

light-hearted,

an energy source.

Low tide-

motionless, tranquil,

intense energy ceases,

craving solitude,

I withdraw

and I am still.

i will try and try again and again to be,a high tide..active force ,fun and crazy ,energy source ,but if i could be but low tide motionless and tranquil,so what its not the end of the world ,i would laugh even laugh at the high tide,i will make fun of him i will say no ,i know i cant run high as you ,but i have my quiet content life and i am happy with it,so get away from me you disturb my peace, and my lovely solitude, which i adore more than anything !!!

This is great! I love how you describe the tides as different aspects of life. You did it so well.

That is an interesting comparison. I bet the lunar cycles mess with you too. :)
