To Ziggy

To Ziggy

A Poem by Barbara Walker

North wind,

snowy lodge,

I was singing.

Frozen river,

ice-encrusted riverbank,

found me clinging.

Called to my dog,

come, come to me,

pulled me out, one, two, three.

I gave him a hug and a bone,

carefully, slowly,

we walked home.
