In My LairA Poem by Barbara WalkerJUST SOMETHING I DID FOR FUN
I was cozy warm in my lair, with not a single, solitary care, which, frankly speaking, is quite rare.
Sitting before the computer, in my chair, out the window, I did stare, until my gaze fell onto my cat, Claire, who was diligently licking her hair.
Then I spied a couple walking off to somewhere. They were a striking, beautiful pair, when on her half-hearted dare, his behind, he did bare!
It gave her a little scare, as windows and doors opened everywhere. As one, we all became aware, of a man walking along, leading a roan mare.
The couple asked, "What is the fare." he replied, "It depends on where." They said that they didn't care, climbed on and galloped out of there.
