WordsA Poem by Barbara WalkerThese words conveyed my feelings re a past relationshipThe older I become, more do I see, words sounding so beautiful, can be said so easily, while in actions, I watch and the truth unfolds to me.
Words, such idle things, but, when we differ in our thoughts, your words, how they hurt my heart.
Loving words turn to dust, when words become so mean, as when distrust comes between us, my heart, bruised, if could be seen.
I'm sick of love words, so lightly spoken and spoken, are but air. I'd rather feel your trust in me, unbroken, than hear words, so fair. 1999
