Words And Deeds

Words And Deeds

A Poem by Barbara Walker

We harm others with words and deeds,

rarely considering, they have their own needs.

We interfere and argue, seeing only our beliefs,

never letting the negative cease.

We insist ours is the only way,

do as we do,do as we say.

God must look down at all this strife

and wonder why, oh why,

did He give us life.

indeed, my way or no hell my way (not only in reglious affairs but in any dealings where people are involved) is a very unwise approach to any situation....we as people should learn to see things not only thru our own eyes but of others as well, we have to respect there views, ideologies and approach as well. nice write.

This is a nice piece. It speaks clearly about one of our biggest downfalls as human beings. We do not look to see what lies beyond our own convoluded beliefs; we critisize others for their beliefs and ideologies and expect them to adopt our own. As a whole, our race has a lot to learn about being open minded and accepting of other people. I found what you said here to be very true and I liked the idea behind this poem. Very well done!
